Gladys Berejiklian’s peremptory response to the tragic death of two young people at a concert is both pathetic and unhelpful. Her answer is to ‘shut down’ the festival as if that would somehow stop the problem overnight.
Her logic is akin to saying that there are too many car deaths on the Pacific Highway so we’ll shut it down. There… that will fix the problem.
These deaths are preventable simply by having pill-testing units at festivals. The policy of zero tolerance for drugs or anything is ‘a tale told by an idiot… full of sound and fury signifying nothing’.
