About 4am on Sunday (December 16), an 18-year-old female approached another female on Jonson Street Byron Bay.
They entered into a conversation before one woman struck the other, knocking her to the ground.
A fight ensued before the two were pulled apart by persons present.
The victim’s injuries including swelling, a sore head, a bleeding lip, scratches and grazes.
She reported the matter to police, who located the defendant a short time later.
The defendant was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was conditionally bailed to appear before Byron Bay Local Court on December 18. .
