WB Crompton, Mullumbimby.

Allow me if you will to voice my displeasure at the current state of our Shire.

My grandfather daily rode his pushbike to Brunswick Heads to trudge behind a draught horse with single-furrow plough all day. He would then ride home, clean up, put on collar and tie and walk uptown to take his place at council meetings as acting mayor.

The council then was made up of men who cared and they worked voluntarily. No pay. They cared. We got a power station and workers who had pride in the Shire.

Now we have a bunch of coffee-sipping parasites bleeding the community dry, we have lost the power station, hospital and council workers who work. Now we drive on roads that are not fit to be called roads.

Mr Morrison put his foot on the cockroaches over the stupid Australia Day thing; now after the penis worshippers have spent how much on a massive road obstruction I think it’s time he trusted his foot and rid the Shire of this pest.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
