A man has died after he was struck by a car at Tweed Heads yesterday (Tuesday February 19).
Emergency services were called to Leisure Drive, Banora Point at about 12.55pm after reports a pedestrian had been hit while attempting to cross the road.
The 86-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.
The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was not injured and was taken to Tweed Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
