School Strike for Climate next Friday

Next Friday from 10am Byron Shire students will be demanding political action on the climate emergency in what they and their supporters say is our present, future and reality.

On Friday March 29th Byron Bay Champagne Club (BBCC) co-founder Remy Tancred (founder of Sample Food Events) is working closely with the executive chef of Seven Mile/Beef & Beach to create a sensational four course dinner to be matched to five of the ultra-premium champagnes produced in the Jeeper range.

You will be hosted for this exquisite event by the other BBCC co-founder, and fabulous lady of wine, Jane Thomson (of The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society) and also by a soon-to-be-announced representative direct from Champagne Jeeper!

Both Remy and Jane are well known in the food and beverage industry and see a few local dinners a year being a fun way to share some of their favourite producers from the Champagne region with locals.

Champagne Jeeper have been growers since the 18th century; the Maison Jeeper story truly began in 1949. It was then that Armand Goutorbe, son of Victor Goutorbe, on his return from the Second World War, decide to produce and sell his champagne. Armand Goutorbe christened his brand champagne Jeeper, with an eye to making himself stand out from the many wine growers of the region also named Goutorbe, and in reference to the Jeep bestowed upon him by the local authorities to help him ascend the vineyard slopes with ease.

There will be five exquisite champagnes provided perfectly matched with the evening meal.

The Lennox Head dinner is proudly sponsored by Elders Lennox Head and Mulchay Lawyers.

Tickets are limited at $135 per person and available via www.byronbaychampagneclub.com.au.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
