For once I agree with Gareth Smith (Letters April 3) where he claims: ‘If I had been in Palestine the car would have been riddled with bullets including me’.

That is sadly the way Palestinians in power deal with any opinion that they don’t agree with. As can be seen yet again in Gaza, where the Hamas violently crushes any Palestinians protesting against them. These are simple, poor Palestinians who want a better government.

If you were driving your car in Israel there would have been a civilised debate and people from both sides would have presented facts on the issue.

There are over a dozen Arab members in the Israeli parliament where elections re taking place. Elections where every Israeli, be they Jewish, Muslim, or Christian gets an equal vote.

Write that fact on your car.
