Did you know that you can go to an Italian supermarket and buy cavallo (horse) flavoured baby food? Italian babies are introduced to more adult flavours, as well as the standard baby fare, at an age when their Aussie counterparts are enduring prune and what I’d call ‘bitter carrot’, after making the mistake of trying one of the healthier Australian-made options our baby was rejecting. But even if you’re tempted, you can’t buy this particular product from the Byron Bay Italian Grocer!
