Seeing police forensics between 5 and 6.45am on Argyle Street in Mullumbimby on Wednesday April 10 some locals had speculated that there had been a hit and run incident.
Sergeant Wayne King of the Tweed/Byron local area command told Echonetdaily that the police hand been called to a violent, domestic related incident between two men and not a hit and run.
According to Sergeant King the incident was an altercation between two men where, ‘one male received a number of injuries, including lacerations. He was transferred to Byron Hospital before he was then moved to Tweed Hospital.’
The man was in a stable condition.
The 26 year old male who inflicted the injuries was arrested and charges were laid.
‘The two men were known to one another. This was not drug related it was a domestic related incident,’ said sergeant King.
