The Ballina RSL and its Billiards and Snooker Club will host the 2019 Southern Cross Snooker Classic in Ballina over three days from Saturday June 8.
The 32nd running of the Southern Cross Classic has attracted 44 top players from the Northern Rivers region and further afield from NSW and Queensland.
Contestants include the current Australian Women’s Snooker Champion, Jessica Woods, and three up-and-coming Australian junior snooker champions, Lilly Meldrum, Xavier Daw, and Jayden Dinga.
Players will be competing on a handicap basis for prizemoney of over $7000. Prizemoney will also be available for high breaks during the tournament.
First-round players who lose their first match will be eligible to play in the repechage event that also offers generous prizemoney.
Club members, members of the public, and other interested parties are encouraged to visit the Ballina RSL Club snooker rooms and watch players of fine standard vie for honours during the competition.
Details of the Southern Cross event, including all prizemoney categories, are available from the Ballina RSL Snooker Club’s website, brslsnooker.weebly.com, or from the tournament director Peter Taylor on 0419 875 599.
