It is clear that Danny Wakil (Letters April 24) divides the truth into facts likeable and unlikeable. My car is covered in facts he doesn’t like, for example: In 2014 Israel killed 2,314 Palestinians and injured 17,125.
However, I am not alone in expressing outrage over this butchery. On August 24, 2014, 327 Jews (40 of them Holocaust survivors) called for a full economic, cultural, and academic boycott of Israel in the New York Times. They stated, ‘Genocide begins with the silence of the world. We must raise our collective voices and use our collective power to bring about an end to all forms of racism, including the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.’
They expressed alarm at ‘the extreme, racist dehumanisation of Palestinians in Israeli society, which has reached fever pitch.’

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
