Crystal Cylinders

Lennox Head’s Ben Dickens has achieved an amazing hat trick in the O/40s men’s at the Australian Longboard Titles held on the Tweed Coast by winning three years in a row.

He was also runner-up in the O/40s logger division at the Australian Logger Titles, held alongside the Longboard Titles.

Dickens is on an amazing roll over the past three years as he has only been beaten once in the two divisions at the titles with his double victories in 2017 and in 2018.

Smith wins too

Henley Smith of Suffolk Park has won the U/10 girls division of the Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps Series event held at Cronulla.

Smith posted a very healthy 14.33 total out of 20 in the final to gain one of the best results of her competitive career.  The event for U/8 to U/14 is regarded as one of the major stepping stones in the development of young Australian surfers.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
