I refer to your front page article in The Echo November 27. Water restrictions should have been introduced into Byron Shire months ago.

The reason – it takes a very long time for people to get out of bad habits. With the holiday season upon us there will be a huge increase in the consumption of water by people who don’t pay rates.

PS: We are on tank water only.
