Voters who put our current government in office are perhaps victims of our failing capitalist and patriarchal world structures. Capitalism encourages competition, economic acquisition, and self-interest that is largely devoid of emotional, spiritual and social intelligence.
Many education systems limit the development of holistic human intelligence. Religious faiths and governments are filled with people with a lack of conscience or genuine feeling. Hillsong Pentecostalists can blithely espouse that anyone who doesn’t share their belief will be left to endure Hell, including the Dalai Lama.
People get caught up in and manipulated by unconscionable rhetoric, like the illusory promise of thousands of jobs with Adani.
Closing down, or not developing emotional, spiritual and social intelligence, often results in narrow-mindedness and lack of broader vision that could create governing systems that work for all.
