Forty square metres for thirty students plus one teacher. Allow ten square metres for access at the front of the room, and the teacher’s desk. This leaves one square metre per student.
This is a classroom in which I used to teach in a local high school.
We often used to marvel about how fast ‘Splendour Flu’ would rage through the student population when a few returned from Splendour in the Grass in late July.
Students’ coughing in small classrooms has obvious implications, but parents ‘need’ to send their children to school.
What now with COVID-19? Will the education system consider new distancing rules in classrooms?
