Neil Matterson, Byron Bay
Mayor Simon Richardson, responding recently to issues of breaching height limits for buildings in the Shire, says that those rules would eventually need to adapt. Why? And for whose benefit?
It appears developers continue to hold sway over the future of this, and no doubt, other shires. In relation to the Byron Shire, the height restrictions for our buildings is one of our greatest assets.
Standing on the main beach one can look north and south and basically not see any buildings. Certainly no high rises. You can’t do that on the Gold Coast!
How lucky we are – and all who visit Byron!
