Keith Duncan, Pimlico

Victoria’s Premier Daniel Andrews should be applauded for his government’s unwavering effort to bring the second-wave COVID-19 outbreak under control.

Instead, he has been subjected to an unrelenting witch-hunt by the right-wing Murdoch media and the Liberal Party, for purely political reasons.

If mistakes were made, they certainly all weren’t in Victoria.

At the initial outbreak of the pandemic, the Federal government was far too slow to close Australia’s borders and force arrivals from world hotspots into quarantine, as New Zealand did, stopping community transmission in its tracks.

The Federal government continues to withhold information from the Ruby Princess inquiry.

Infected passengers were allowed to disembark and transport the virus to all corners of Australia.

When the State government eventually brought that under control and some states closed their borders, Scotty from marketing – with Gladys in tow – immediately started to bully those states into prematurely reopening borders, against medical advice.

Every medical expert warned that prematurely opening the borders and ending the lockdown too soon would lead to a second wave. So, let those free of sin cast the first stone.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Bravo… Bravo… !! Commandant Andrews !!!
As part of your on-boarding, regarding your
Terms and conditions of your Employment
We need to do some training… as security
    Guards cant express the importance
Of your Gender and race !! So we will
Proceed with some diversity training .
2 days !! off you go you have fulfilled
Your training requirements as security Guards.
Great one said that was so easy !!
And the rest is history !!
Look Andrews has turned up each day to confront
This pandemic credit to him !! But thats his Role !
And forms part of his contract, Victorians would expect nothing less … but as with the case of the ruby princess the buck stops with the Premier
As will be the case with the Andrews Government
This debacle makes the ruby princess look
Insignificant and a Royal Commission will follow.
And have previously stated alot of this is political
The Axe will fall on the Qld Premier, and Andrews
    Will follow …

  2. Duck… Barrow’s out to get Labor. I’d like to see
Barrow’s answer & advise on what tickles him
that can possibly happen in ‘the land of nod.’
    Labor’s nasty. Greens are ugly. Independents;
slack. First Nation – nor quite sure. Barnaby ?
Possibly okay – & ScoMo – the for real man
who listens to God. Barrow, you have got to be
our Guru. Chasing windmills is an art along
with one game blame after another.

  3. Well Stefanie !! Thats why the Greens obtain
9 % of the voters.. and for good reason
Your Greens Guru Brandt is by FAR the
Most left of any Greens loonies in there
Short unfortunate history … they will 100%
Lose voters at the next election.. i vote for
    Normal .. not racial !!!
