Dean Chalker, Mullumbimby Creek
I read that some excess state government money will be spent splashing paint on the road in the centre of Mullum to make a pedestrian-friendly environment.
As a Mullum resident, I think that that might be a good thing, but I doubt it will come to anything without diverting all through-traffic.
The Echo (9 September) story said ‘diverting traffic onto Station Street’, but in practice this must mean Fern St, since the Tincogan/Station St intersection is almost too tight for cars, much less trucks.
I wonder what the Fern Street residents think about the proposal to put heavy traffic down their narrow, poorly surfaced street?
