Well I’ll be, ‘Our Glad’ up to her eyeballs in a sex and corruption scandal. No reasonable person would criticise Gladys for being in a personal relationship, but for a public figure to keep a relationship with a disgraced former MP (Maguire) – who was already under investigation for corruption – secret, by failing to declare it, is going to take some explaining.

‘Our Glad’ has never been a shrinking violet, she is a very shrewd political operator, one had only to watch her demeanour at a press conference where she kept parroting that she ‘had done nothing wrong’, and instead blamed ICAC, the media, the Labor opposition, Maguire, and anybody else who dared to question her ‘stuff-up’.

Gladys has been wounded, the public will not tolerate any hint of corruption from public figures, and playing the sympathy card can be problematic. As for Maguire, he has to be looking at spending some quality time with fellow disgraced MP Eddie Obeid at government expense.

It seems he has been misusing his access to important people in the immigration department, and the NSW Premier, to scam money from wannabe immigrants, by fast-tracking visas. Talk about getting bang for your buck, (excuse the pun).

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Iam fond of the NSW premier as is most of NSW !
And she really should “resign.” And yes Maguire
Should be a guest of the Queen no doubt !!
However Keith this is not a sex Scandal mate !!
What one do’s in one’s private life is nobody’s business !! Including yours !! Non english migrant
Votes comes to mind regarding the labor Party
Keith ? Should i elaborate keith ? The labor party
I voted for for 2 decades would be willing to admit
To failings within the ranks , state and federal
Not anymore keith , as is the case in Victoria
The failures by the Andrew’s government
In my opinion will cost the taxpayer’s ‘billions.’
And they will get to the bottom of who eventually
Made the decision to engage the private Security guards from NSW , where as per the outcome of the inquiry 99% of cases were as a result of the
Hotel quarantine debacle that lead to the deaths
Of 800 people .. keith !! Now who needs to RESIGN?
    “Double standards”

  2. Keith is correct that if a politician [Glad] uses her votes by this land’s voters
& ‘wins’ the permission of State Government to become Premier’ & then
falls by the wayside of having being aware of what her already disgraced
boy-friend & live-in lover was up-to & played along with it she is as guilty
as the hell she created. No bones about that. Barrow, we are talking about
how ICAC sees the situation. You can’t have one ‘law’ for Glad because
she got caught out. Glad spent 5 years associating with Maguire & his
crooked mates fleecing the country. She was aware of the hook-ups.
    She needs to resign.

  3. Need for the reminder Stefanie
    Paper bags of Money ???
    Labor and Chinese donations..
    Come on Stefanie!!
    And she should resign!!

  4. Stop your blustering ‘cover-ups’ & get real for a change. Any mongrel in
power-happy Australia gets called out once what’s known has been
proven as opposed to those ‘paid up’ justice pretenders. Got it!
