  1. We have confirmed cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Lismore Shire & detections of fragments in Byron, Ballina & 2 large areas of the city of Lismore! If the protestors really want to make a thorough mockery of this government & it’s new health orders, including the need to wear a mask, then why not wait until there are no cases in this area, when it should be safer to march away to your heart’s content?! You are simply marching about to gain attention, but risk creating the super-spreading event that the rest of us are working so hard to avoid! And if the worst possibility eventuates, and you spread it through your community & initiate much sickness, stress & death, how important will it feel to march for your right to not wear a mask then?

  2. With hospitals, hospital staff and resources being over-stretched it is worth considering that there is NO freedom once Covid 19, Delta and the growing variants predicted reach a critical mass and severely impact upon human health. The history of Pandemics reveal massive deaths. The rise of the Anti Vax far Right protesters has been also happening in Parliament in the name of ‘freedom”. Shame Shame Shame.
Beware politicised ideologies that do not serve human health but rather feed into hubris , power and social control. The pandemic is real. Be sensible and follow health instructions thus working towards ‘a new freedom” for the social collective…life is changing for all humans.
