The Northern NSW Local Health District have announced that there were nine new cases of COVID-19 reported for the area to 8pm, yesterday, November 11.
Northern NSW Local Health District, Chief Executive, Wayne Jones, says that five cases are in the Grafton area of Clarence Valley Local Government Area (LGA), including three household contacts of existing cases, and two cases under investigation.
‘Three cases are in the Kyogle LGA, all linked to existing cases. One case is in the Lismore LGA, a household contact of an existing case.
‘There have now been 170 total cases in NNSWLHD since 16 June.’
Sewage detections in Wardell and Lennox Head
Fragments of the COVID-19 virus were detected in samples from the Wardell and Lennox Head sewage treatment plants on 9 November. ‘There are no known cases in these areas, and we urge the community to be alert for COVID-19 symptoms.
‘These detections could indicate there are positive cases active in these communities who have not been tested.
‘Even if you are fully vaccinated you should get tested and isolate immediately if you have even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms – such as a slightly runny nose, a scratchy or sore throat or generally feeling under the weather.
