The NSW Government has announced a funding boost of nearly $20 million over four years to help more victim-survivors of domestic violence stay in their homes.
Minister for Women’s Safety and the Prevention of Domestic and Sexual Violence, Natalie Ward, said the commitment will mean the Staying Home Leaving Violence program will be expanded from 33 existing locations to reach 70 locations across the State, focusing on areas with high demand.
The aim of the Staying Home Leaving Violence program, according to www.facs.nsw.gov.au, ‘is to prevent you and your children becoming homeless or having to move away from your family and friends, and the school and community where you live’.
‘The program works in cooperation with NSW Police to remove the perpetrator (the violent partner) from the family home.’
Other support includes safety planning, help in managing finances, support for children, and assistance with complicated legal processes. To contact the Northern NSW (Clarence Valley) chapter, call 02 6684 4299.
So all you have to do is gode him into some aggression and the police will kick him out and govt will pay your house off?
Or is it just protecting them from the consequences of their own poor decision making? Not much incentive to change the type of guy they date.
Is there any limit to the number of times they can claim this or is it a new industry for women to earn money from?
Is this available to men who are victims of domestic violence?
If ‘he’ can get goaded into aggression then he’d best take his problems to a professional
– a male health provider. If the man is a ‘victim’ I’d say what’s good for one is good for
the other. Assumptions don’t belong here.
Every ‘he’ can be goaded into violence. One of our main functions for our women is to “do the violence” for them when it’s needed.
Funny how misandrist will call for men with guns in blue uniforms to do violence for them when needed, while condemning both men and guns.
No argument needed. Guns in anyone’s hands are dangerous – in prejudiced
personalities it’s enough to start wars – see Russian benchmarks. Recall as well
that we have both male & female policing that works either way. It’s a small
world if you think about it. No rough stuff belongs in a caring society.
