If you are involved in managing crown reserve land and facilities then now is the time to get that application in for a share of the $17 million that is available for the 2022-3 funding round.

The Crown Reserves Improvement Fund Program (CRIF) provides financial support for the maintenance, improvement or development of Crown reserves. It can be used to manage and renovate infrastructure, enhance environmental assets by supporting conservation initiatives, bushfire management and invasive species (pest and weed), support renewable energy use, energy efficiency, water efficiency and environmentally sustainable practices that work towards net zero emissions, and assist in bvuiling and restoring community resilience following adverse events among other projects.

The applications are open to Crown land reserve managers including local councils and community groups who use Crown land.

‘I strongly encourage eligible local organisations to apply,’ said Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest.

‘The fund will support improvements to community, recreational and tourism facilities on Crown reserves while also supporting local businesses and economies.’

Minister for Lands and Water, Kevin Anderson said quality public reserves were vital to the health and well-being of local communities.

‘Residents need quality natural spaces to relax and rejuvenate and this fund enhances local reserves that provide green open recreational space and protect our environmental diversity.

‘The fund also upgrades facilities on Crown land used by organisations at the heart of our communities, like surf life saving clubs, scouts and girl guide groups, public halls, the RSPCA and PCYC,’ Mr Anderson said.

Applications close at 5pm, 3 June. For further information on the Crown Reserves Improvement fund and to apply visit: https://reservemanager.crownland.nsw.gov.au/funding/crif.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online.
