Israel and Australia have both signed and ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Article 37 of which states that, ‘Children who break the law should not be treated cruelly. They should not be put in a prison with adults and should be able to keep in contact with their family’. However, Israel persists in killing Palestinian kids.
Take 2 June for example, when Israeli soldiers shot 16-year-old Odeh Mohammad Odeh in the back as he walked with friends about 100m from his home. They also shot at those who tried to reach him. He is the 16th Palestinian teen to be killed by Israeli forces this year.
Last year, during the Israeli offensive on Gaza (10–21 May), 240 Palestinians, including sixty-five children, thirty-nine women, and seventeen elders were killed. The Israeli missiles and shells also caused 1,900 injuries, including 560 children, 380 women, and 91 elders.
The Morrison government gifted Ukraine $285 million of military equipment, but that amount could buy 950,000 BulletSafe vests, which could protect Palestinians, particularly children, from Israel’s murderous police, settlers and military. If we are prepared to export killing machines to Ukraine, how much more prepared should we be to send bulletproof vests to Palestine? What about it Mr Albanese?
Don’t know why you talk about breaking the law. Palestinians don’t have to break any laws to be killed by Israel, it’s a genocide.
Just boycott Israel until they agree to go back inside their borders and stop occupying Palestine.
They already have 400+ illegal nuclear weapons, the world is suppose to be boycotting them for that.
Instead, everyone sends them helicopter gunships and tanks to deal with a bunch of kids with rocks and bottle rockets.
Wow Christian actually wrote something coherent, I’ll have to complement and agree on this point.
I don’t suddenly like the brown people. I’d happily turn the whole place into green glowing glass. But the Zionist are killing people in Palestine and have purposely invaded in a pattern to make a two state solution impossible. They are correct though, that most of them are not ethnically Palestinian and are in fact invaders themselves. And the Israelis do make better use of the land. All of these things are true.
If I have to pick sides, I’m going to evaluate based on what’s best for ethnic Europeans. The Zionists are a problem for us, the kids with rocks aren’t.
Invaders supported by governments that don’t give a damn!
The world is sick & knowledge is deliberately abandoned.
