Steve Krieg got in with a large team and an advertising blitz on TV. His mandate was to outnumber the Greens with his councillors and get rampant development; and then the floods hit, ha ha ha.
But it just goes to show how vulnerable democracy is to some cold hard cash – but only if you do it during elections. Obviously illegal at any other time, whereas the politburo doesn’t suffer that vulnerability as it’s on merit within like a public service.
