I just needed to say how deeply sad I am to hear of the death of our beloved Uncle Jack Charles.

I feel totally gutted as I considered Uncle Jack as a family member. I thought Uncle Jack would be around until at least 95, he was so active, full of life and love. I am still in shock and I feel at a loss as to how to come to terms with this inescapable tragedy. My tears still rain down my face.

I have heard many people suggest Jack should be on our new $5 notes – BRILLIANT idea. Also forget putting some monument to Queenie at Macquarie Square; IT SHOULD BE Uncle Jack.

We will miss you terribly; now there is a huge hole in our lives that no-one else can fill. The world will be a lot shittier without you popping into our daily lives. As Uncle Jack said himself, he was A Black Fella sans frontières… A Black Fella Without Borders HA! What a legend.
