Lismore City Council has provided 1,000 extra ‘free waste vouchers’ to help residents dispose of excess waste generated over the Christmas and New Year period.
‘Council has an electronic waste voucher system where each property is allocated one waste voucher per year. To help dispose of extra waste generated over the holiday period, Council is issuing an extra 1000 vouchers over January and February Lismore City Council General Manager John Walker said.
The vouchers will be available throughout January and February and must be used within 30 days of issuing.
‘Once a voucher is issued, residents have 30 days to take their waste to either the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre on Wyrallah Road, East Lismore or the Nimbin Transfer Station,’ said Mr Walker.
‘We do ask residents to please sort as much of their waste as possible to allow us to recycle as many items as we can to keep them out of landfill.’
You can apply for a free waste voucher online at: www.northernriverswaste.com.au.
These extra vouchers are very much needed as the 28/2/22 flood debris is still being discovered and picked up.
It’s very easy to apply on-line and then simply print-out the voucher (you can also get to know the weight of your car and trailer, as well as the load on the weighbridge!)
Lismore CC have done marvels over recycling for the community and this gratis offer only cements that fact.
