Update: Ms Symington has been found.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman, Kara Symington, missing from Tweed Heads since Tuesday.

Kara Symington, aged 41, was last seen leaving a residence in Tweed Heads about 5.40am on Tuesday (21 March 2023).

When she failed to return and could not be contacted, officers from Tweed-Byron Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate her.

Police hold serious concerns for her welfare.

Kara is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165 cm tall, of thin build, brown hair and ruddy complexion.

She was last seen wearing a light purple t-shirt, short black skirt, black shoes and carrying a multi coloured backpack.

Kara is known to frequent northern NSW and southeast Queensland.

Anyone who sees Kara or has any information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
