Lighting a candle for peace on the eve of ANZAC Day will be held next Monday, April 24, at Lismore Anglican St Andrew’s Church.
This ceremony is to remember all who have suffered through war, on all sides. At the same time it expresses the wish for non-violent conflict resolutions in a peaceful future.
With RaH’s patron, former Mayor Jenny Dowell as MC, different speakers from our very diverse community with different backgrounds and affiliations will bring their perspectives on a more peaceful world. Local musicians will take part in the event.
This all-inclusive, multicultural, multi-faith gathering on April 24, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm in St Andrew’s Anglican Church, 10 Zadoc St, Lismore, and will be followed by refreshments. The event is cost-free and everybody is invited.
Over the past 14 years, this peace event for ANZAC Day has become a local tradition, organised by the North Coast peace group – Remembering and Healing (RaH).
