he 2023 Casino Truck Show will be held in the Casino CBD on Saturday 5 August.

Australia seems to have a bit of a thing for ‘Big Things’ from the Big Prawn and the Big Pineapple to the Big Merino – and now Casino is about to give you the opportunity to get up close with some pretty big trucks. The 2023 Casino Truck Show will be held in the Casino CBD on Saturday 5 August.

Celebrating its tenth year the Casino Truck Show is now considered the ‘greatest truck show in the southern hemisphere’ according to a spokesperson from the Richmond Valley Council (RVC).

‘Last year’s Casino Truck Show was the biggest yet with an estimated 8,000 people attending, and the expectation is more entries and more people would attend this year,’ said  Angela Jones, Richmond Valley Council’s Director Service Delivery.

North Coast Petroleum owner Mick McKinlay and Casino Truck Show organiser Darren Goodwin shake on the local trucking company’s continued support for the greatest truck show in the southern hemisphere, with Richmond Valley Council’s Events team looking on.

Ms Jones said surviving ten years as a regional event was no small feat, and even more impressive when you throw a global pandemic into the fray.

However, she said, that’s exactly what the Casino Truck Show was celebrating – an entire decade of showcasing an industry which kept the country moving.

‘We couldn’t be prouder to host such a dynamic event, which over the past ten years has opened up our beautiful town and the Richmond Valley to the rest of Australia, ‘ Ms Jones said.

‘Since its inception in 2011 – we lost two years to COVID-19 – the Casino Truck Show has developed a reputation as the greatest truck show in the southern hemisphere.

‘We are delighted to again welcome North Coast Petroleum as a naming rights sponsor and are thankful for the support and encouragement of the many other sponsors who have come on board this year.

‘As a community which is passionate about its transport industry, we welcome all and sundry to Casino on Saturday 5 August.’

Entertainment this year includes the Country Mud Band, AirtimeFMX, and the Wildlife Twins. As well, there will be plenty of kid-friendly activities such as amusements rides and face painting. There will also be exhibitors showcasing industry-related products and services, food vans and market stallholders.

Online registrations and market stall applications will open Thursday 1 June. Stay tuned to the Casino Truck Show’s social media and website for further information.

We just love him!

If you’re over 50 you might not be a fan of Tom Jones, but you can bet your mum is. If you’re under 40 you might not even know who he is, but your grandmother probably wet her pants at the mere mention of his name.
