Congratulations to Chris Minns for bringing in the new regulations about so-called VIP rooms in clubs and pubs. It’s only a small step in the war against gambling but it’s better than nothing.
Poker machines cause poverty. The clubs and pubs are like drug pushers – parasites and bloodsuckers living off someone else’s misery, in this case the misery of addicted gamblers.

They are literally video games. Lots of people are addicted to video games, and it costs them a great deal. There are many things in our society that a minority of people tend to get addicted too. Not most, just some. Probably just focus on the real problem if you want to solve it. If you take someone’s addiction away from them, it’s not long before they pick up another one.
