International Compost Awareness Week is here, and we asked our local organic champions Santos Organics whether there was any point in composting our organics and using compost to create a healthier soil, or whether we should just dig a huge hole somewhere in the shire and let everyone throw their stuff in. On balance, they came down in favour of composting:

Plus Architecture have revealed designs for a new luxury destination hotel in Byron Bay to replace the current Waves Hotel.

The press release by Plus Architecture says they drew inspiration from Byron Bay’s renowned ‘barefoot luxury’ lifestyle.

‘While respecting the height limits of the area with a four-storey structure, the hotel’s rooftop area stands out as its crowning glory.

Plus Architecture director, Danny Juric, describes the design as a ‘symphony of serenity,’ where ‘materials and finishes harmoniously blend, embodying the gentle embrace of nature.’
