Yesterday (Tuesday, 20 September) a vehicle crashed into the Ballina Coles supermarket. The elderly driver was accompanied by a male passenger.

The Toyota Corolla entered the store at around 12.30pm and stopped short of the aisles.
Emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Fox Street, Ballina, following reports of a crash.
Police from Richmond Police District attended and were told a Toyota Corolla had crashed into the supermarket before allegedly striking a woman.
It is understood that the driver and another woman in her thirties were both taken to hospital for treatment and minor injuries.
‘NSW Ambulance paramedics rendered assistance to the woman, aged in her 30s, before she was taken to hospital for the assessment of injuries believed to be minor,’ said a NSW Police spokesperson.
‘The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital for the treatment of shock and injuries believed to be minor.’
The male passenger did not report any injuries to police.
‘The safety of our customers and team members is always our highest priority. Our thoughts are with our customers who were involved in the event and we are working closely with emergency services who are investigating the incident,’ a Coles spokesperson told The Echo.
