Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens, the well-known tourist destination in Byron Bay’s hinterland, has just unveiled ‘The Cocoon’, a rare 3-tonne amethyst cave, marking its first major installation in five years.
This giant crystal from South Brazil took over a year of planning, logistics, engineering, and artistry to install and will be a central feature of the property.
Founder Naren King highlights the rarity of this find. ‘In four decades, we’ve never seen a crystal like The Cocoon.
‘It’s a once-in-a-lifetime acquisition, adding a unique dimension to our collection. Here at Crystal Castle, we have all fallen in love with it, and we are sure everyone else will too.
‘The arrival of “The Cocoon” is symbolic of our recovery and resurgence following the challenges of the past few years,’ she said.
‘It represents new beginnings, hope, and the enduring strength of nature and community.’
With the installation now complete, Crystal Castle is ready to welcome visitors for a memorable summer season.
