New South Wales police say the search for a missing swimmer that began on Sunday, resumed today at 7.30am.
Surf Life Saving NSW reports that at around 15.43pm on Sunday, the Surf Life Saving NSW State Operations Centre was notified of an incident unfolding some 600m south of Lennox Head-Alstonville SLSC where initial reports suggested between two and three people were being pulled out to sea and struggling with the current.
It was later confirmed that two males had self-rescued and were safe on shore while a third man was still outstanding.
Two Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs) from Lennox Head surf club joined SLSNSW jet skis, a drone, and the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter in the search efforts, which were suspended not long before 7pm on Sunday evening with nil found.
