Just wanting to alert the community to a major cane toad outbreak on Clarkes Beach.
Just below Reflections Holiday Park is a very unhealthy drain that has formed a lagoon, an ideal breeding spot for cane toads, which now number many thousands in tadpole and toadlet stage.
We have been in touch with NSW biosecurity etc and all they tell us it’s bad luck, if you find a cane toad stick it in your fridge. No idea on what to do with a soon-to-be-invading army of them all over the beach!
There is soon to be a major toad-busting event in Queensland where the toadlets have occupied the Gold Coast in their millions. Should Byron Bay just lay down and let them take over?
Oh dear, Varroa, Fire Ants, Cane Toads, the pests are getting a free run.
