I attended the flood forum held at the Ballina RSL last Monday and was aghast to hear some of the facts presented. 4,000 people have still not received funding that was promised to them and that is one of the reasons why this forum was called.
Another mind-blowing fact is that the 400 new homes to be built in Mullumbimby are to be built on flood-prone land! Could Byron Councillors please consult and listen to Councillor Duncan Dey, a civil engineer who has specialised in hydrology, and find more suitable land for these new houses.
