Youth crime is increasing – what to do?

The coronial inquest into the untimely death of Jarrad Antonovich, near Kyogle, will resume at Byron Bay Courthouse next Wednesday, after the inquest ran out of time to complete its work last year in the Northern Rivers and Sydney. A week of hearings is expected before the state coroner announces her findings.

One of the key people involved, ayahuasca practitioner Lore Solaris, is currently the subject of an Interim Prohibition Order from the Health Care Complaints Commission, which prohibits him from providing any health services to the public. This is the second Interim Prohibition Order imposed on Mr Solaris.

Since the previous coronial inquest hearings, Mr Solaris has been in Brazil (supported by a GoFundMe campaign) and then at a retreat in Maldon, Victoria, until authorities intervened.

Last year he claimed online that, ‘Our spiritual work is currently under threat by government agencies and individuals who would like to see our spiritual work stop for a range of agendas.’

Jarrad Antonovich’s family will be at the inquest to hear Mr Solaris and other key witnesses give evidence in the final days of the inquest, before the coroner announces her findings.
