A teenager has been charged following alleged break and enters at two service stations at Evans Head and Broadwater.
About 3.35am on Tuesday, 20 February, 2024, a service station on Baraang Drive, Broadwater, was allegedly ransacked. Police will allege that a glass door was smashed before the property was ransacked and items were stolen from the premises.
A short time later, a service station on Woodburn Street at Evans Head was also allegedly ransacked with items stolen.
Both businesses were closed at the time and no injuries were reported as a result of the incidents.
Police from Richmond Police District were notified and commenced and investigation into the incidents, they will allege they were linked.
Following extensive inquiries, a 15-year-old boy was arrested yesterday (Monday, 26 February).
He was taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal (value less than $60,000), and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday, 5 April 2024.
