A body believed to be that of a man reported missing last week has been found, police on the weekend said.
Tweed/Byron Police District officers say they started investigating the whereabouts of a 49-year-old man on Thursday 14 March.
He’d been reported missing from Elanora in Queensland, with his vehicle found abandoned at Ewingsdale on Wednesday 13 March.
A man’s body was found about 12.20pm Saturday 16 March near a railway bridge at Tyagarah.
Police on the weekend were yet to formally identify the body but said they believed it was that of the missing man.
A report was to be prepared for the Coroner.
