Mullumbimby High School student and tennis star Marielou Baudouin PIC supplied

Mullumbimby High School student Marielou Baudouin is to join the School Sport Australia All-Australian Girls tennis team after impressing selectors in Hobart.

Ms Baudouin was in the southern state representing the NSW tennis team at national school tennis open championship, the Pizzey Cup.

Each state was represented at the event by a team of eight youth under the age of eighteen.

Her selection for the national team comes as the young player prepares to represent the Mullumbimby High school team in June in for the Floris Conway Cup at Tweed Heads.

The local event is to determine representation from the far north coast for a state-wide high school tennis knockout.

Ms Baudouin received coaching from former Mullumbimby High School student turned professional tennis player, Steve Gort.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
