A man is in a serious condition following a two-vehicle crash in Alstonville on Monday.

Shortly before 6pm (Monday, 13 May, 2024), a Toyota Camry travelling west on the Bruxner Highway, Alstonville, and a Holden Commodore travelling east, have collided near the Wardell Road overpass.

Passing motorists assisted the driver of the Toyota – a 49-year-old man – who was freed from the vehicle with the assistance of the SES and Fire and Rescue NSW.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the Commodore – a 70-year-old woman – sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Richmond Police District have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
