Two men are to face court in October over an alleged armed robbery in Tweed Heads South last week.
Police say they responded to a call-out to the scene of an armed robbery in Minjungbal Drive, Tweed Heads South, last Wednesday 14 August about 8.30pm.
Officers say they were told upon arrival that a 35-year-old man had been assaulted.
Two other men had reportedly left the scene with the assaulted man’s mobile phone and bag.
Police say the alleged victim was taken to Tweed Valley Hospital and treated for multiple abrasions.
Investigations led to the arrest the next afternoon of two men aged 33 and 35 at a home on Banora Point’s Oyster Bay Drive.
They were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon causing wounding/grievous bodily harm.
Both men were refused bail and are due to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday 19 October 2024.
