Friday Hut Road has been closed in three places, the Ballina Shire Council says, owing to flooding.
The long road winds through lower parts of the Byron and Ballina hinterland, with several creeks along the way.
On Monday morning, the Ballina Shire Council said staff had closed Friday Hut Road at Emigrant Creek’s Kirklands Crossing, at Skinners Creek and at Jorgensens Lane in Brooklet.
Pearces Creek Hall Road at Pearces Creek and Lindendale Road at Marom Creek were also closed.
The council’s advice comes after a severe weather warning this morning and minor flood warnings issued Sunday still in place for the Tweed, Rous, Richmond and Wilsons Rivers.
Road closures across the region can be checked via Live Traffic online and emergency dashboards on the Tweed, Byron, Ballina and Lismore council websites.
‘Not all roads can be signposted so please be aware of changing conditions in your local area,’ the council warned.
