Glen Robinson is running for Ward B.
What do you love about the Kyogle region?
I love where I live and love this region. It’s beautiful and I feel that I’d like to help keep it that way. Looking after our environment, appreciating and understanding it is very important.
Why are you putting your hand up for the Kyogle Council?
I’m standing for council because I’d like to see a council that is open and transparent and in touch with the community where everyone knows what’s going on and trusts their councillors. I’m the only candidate for Ward B that lives in Kyogle.
What relevant skills or experience do you bring to the position?
I’m a fitness instructor these days but spent most of my life in commercial art. I’m local to the area with strong historical and family ties. I’ve lived on acreage even though I live in town now and have been a volunteer rural firefighter as well as chairman.
What do you see as Kyogle’s role in the regional housing crisis?
That’s a question I can’t answer as a new candidate, but I’d hope there is some strategy in place.
Do you think there is a role for local councillors beyond roads, rates and rubbish? If so, what is it?
I hope so… A fresh look and to inspire the best out of the community. More opportunities for volunteers and the not for profit sector.
