Thank you,Jane Heynes for your letter (August 14) regarding the Jonson and Kingsley Street nightclub proposal. We need local residents to alert us to matters that our current Council rarely does.
After reading her letter, my memory was jogged by an item a few weeks earlier regarding the rebuild of the Byron Fire Station which is currently on the corner of Kingsley Street and Jonson Lane. Is it possible that the developers have bought the existing fire station site? Where would a new station be built if this is the case? The current location is very central, and I doubt such a prime site would be available elsewhere in town. What gives?
