Mandy Nolan’s Soapbox: Why I Love Being Dry

On 13 July I am four years sober. I am one of a growing number of people who decided to quit alcohol. It’s one of the best decisions of my life. My only regret is I didn’t do it sooner.

It is most notable that right-wing think tank,’Advance Australia’ which threatened to target The Greens is already operative in the Byron Shire, according to a large collective of senior citizens in the Shire. A recent copy of the Saturday Paper noted that younger women will be the target (pre ‘crone age’ my phrase). It seems that the ‘future of youth’ is a prize right-wing weaponising target for ‘Advance Australia’. ‘Advance’ is modelled on Trump’s frontline crony spokesman, Steve Bannon who has stated:‘Flood the zone with shit’.

Thus we view the weaponisation of lies which create discord and conflict. Algorithms elevate conflict. Disinformation spreads and creates division.

The success of this social weaponisation is that we view the right-wing strategy clearly.  Simply put, everyone talks ‘shit’ but, more dangerously, ‘shit’ transforms into lies which are believed!

Thus, confusion creates control. This strategy, when revealed, brought down the U.S. Nixon government.

Research reveals that ‘Advance’ is associated with hard-right elements of the Liberal and National parties. ‘Advance’ has campaigned on trans athletes, Teal Independents, opposition to action on climate change, support for nuclear power, and most prominently, the Voice. Tony Abbott is on its advisory board. Jacinta Yangapi Nampijinpa Price worked as its spokesperson when entering parliament recently. Advance was formerly headed by Gerard Benedet. a long-time Liberal Party staffer, among other jobs he held, including in the Murdoch media.

Simply put, recently incarcerated ‘boozy’ Steve Bannon works for Lucifer, top king in hell. Social evil spreads like hell. Just make outrageous populist pronouncements and wait for the mainstream media to report them. Inevitably the other side will seek to debunk them. It’s called the ‘weaponisation of lies’. So,folks in the Shire, don’t’ play the game, or reach for the ‘rat sack’ sandwiches, or beat up your best friend. Just recognise that you are caught in the vortex of social manipulation and lies.

Of course the best revenge ever, planned by the crones in the Byron Shire (he!!!!! he!! he he! cackle cackle!) is to vote Green and get the remarkable First Nations representative, Delta Kay, on Byron Council. Thus we really uphold democracy, equity and dismantle oppressive, cruel colonising social structures. Don’t let the ’shit/shite’ stick! Onwards with clear vision.
