A man has died after being washed off rocks near Brooms Head yesterday.
About 12.30pm on Monday 14 October 2024 emergency services were called to Broom Head lookout, south of Yamba, after reports a man was washed off rocks into the water.
The man was found unresponsive in the water and despite the efforts of first responders and witnesses, he could not be revived.
The man, who is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be aged in his mid-50s.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police will prepare a report regarding the man’s death for the information of the Coroner.
