With Lismore City Council due to debate a rescission motion on the issue tomorrow, supporters of the Richmond River Historical Society are rallying before the meeting at Lismore Council Chambers in Goonellabah.
After years of restoration work, planning and new signage, Lismore Council staff recently shocked museum volunteers by suggesting there might be a better use for the museum premises in the heritage Municipal Building at 165 Molesworth Street, as part of a wider push from Council to bring more business back to the CBD.
A Change.org petition urging them to reconsider their decision has attracted over 1,000 signatures in the last week.
The Goonellabah protest will begin at 12pm. A Facebook event page is here.
