
A week long adaptive surf festival, the Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships, kicked off with a Parade of Nations through Byron Bay on Sunday, showcasing national pride and unity among adaptive athletes.
Following its groundbreaking debut last year as Australia’s first-ever international adaptive surfing contest, organisers describe the event is a must-see competition showcasing incredible skill, resilience, and the global movement toward adaptive surfing’s inclusion in the Paralympics.

Yesterday was Come and Try Day.
Starting today is the BrightSky Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships Event heats.
Coming up:
- Saturday, 29 March – 7:30 AM: Pro Event Semi-Finals.
- Sunday, 30 March – 7:30 AM: Pro Event Finals. Estimated conclusion at 4pm.
- also on Sunday 30 March – 6 PM: Official Presentation Night at Byron Bay Services Club.
