Mullum’s Queer Family is hosting a vibrant celebration for Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) on Saturday, March 29 at The Paddock Project. This year’s theme, ‘Nature Loves Diversity’, highlights the natural world’s rich tapestry of gender diversity, queerness, and beauty. The event will feature community-driven activities, including garden workshops, arts and crafts, an art exhibition, the painting of the iconic LOVE sign, and delicious food.

What is TDOV?
Trans Day of Visibility was established in 2009 and is an annual global event dedicated to celebrating transgender, gender-diverse, and non-binary people. TDOV focuses on joy, achievements, and community connection. It’s a day to amplify trans voices, increases awareness about the challenges faced by gender-diverse people, and fosters a community that embraces diversity.
Local community members and allies are encouraged to come together for an afternoon of creativity and learning. The event is designed to be welcoming and inclusive for people of all ages and backgrounds, offering workshops and opportunities to simply connect and enjoy the day.

‘In a world where trans and gender-diverse people still face widespread discrimination, visibility matters,’ said Frieda Herrmann from Queer Family.
‘Trans Day of Visibility is about showing up, standing together, and celebrating the strength and resilience of our community. Nature teaches us that diversity is not only beautiful but essential. So come along and help create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.’
This free (or by donation) event is funded by Healthy North Coast through the North Coast PHN Program.
